Beyonce Introduces: IVY PARK
With the success of the release of the athletic apparel line, IVY PARK “Formation” singer, Beyoncé recently describes the inspiration behind her new venture in in the May edition of ELLE Magazine. Bey takes a special part with her in this clothing line, Ivy representing her four-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. She explains her reasoning for Park in an interview with ELLE, “I called it IVY PARK because a park is our commonality. We can all go there; we’re all welcomed. It’s anywhere we create for ourselves. For me, it’s the place that my drive comes from. I think we all have that place we go to when we need to fight through something, set our goals and accomplish them.”
Even though the new athletic line may seem sexy and ready for the runway Beyoncé explains how the new clothing speaks louder than any thread or fabric ever could. “It’s really the essence- to celebrate every woman and the body she’s in while always striving to be better,” the Texan explained.
Many would believe it is rather difficult to be a celebrity, like Queen Bey herself because of the constant need to be perfect before stepping out the door or even when posting a selfie on social media. Beyoncé has always been transparent with her fans on her beliefs of self-respect and how important it is to celebrate the skin you’re in with songs like, “Pretty Hurts” and “Flawless.” But allow Beyoncé to reintroduce herself, like Jay did, as she reveals something with ELLE Magazine that was never said before, “It’s really about changing the conversation. It’s not about perfection. It’s about purpose. The 34 year old said. “We have to care about our bodies and what we put in them. Women have to take the time to focus on our mental health-take time for self, for the spiritual, without feeling guilty or selfish. The world will see you, the way you see you, and treat you the way you treat yourself.”
