Jermaine Dupri Presents The Rap Game: Miss Mulatto

Notable rapper, producer and songwriter Jermaine Dupri, presents Lifetime’s new hit series, The Rap Game. Executive produced by Dupri himself, Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere, the new show’s mission is to find the next biggest rap star from the ages of 12 to 16 years of age. The youngsters are exposed to the Atlanta hip-hop world and are taken underneath the wing of Jermaine Dupri as he places each rapper in challenges that will prepare them for the life of a rap artist. Each week professionals such as, Usher, Bow Wow and Da Brat make appearances and encourage the rappers. Based on each individual’s performance Dupri makes the decision of which artist is ready to enter the music business, and that artist is signed by Jermaine Dupri’s label, So So Def Recordings. Dupri is no stranger to the music industry, and his resume stands alone. After mentoring artists like TLC, Da Brat, Bow Wow and Kris Kross they became successful and are still making power moves to this day! Throughout the TV series Jermaine acts like a big brother to the young artists and pushes them to be the best they can be.

The Rap Game’s first season’s winner is 16 years old, Miss Mulatto! Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia Miss Mulatto took her story of being taunted as a child because of the color of her skin to her advantage and began writing about her experiences. Eventually her writing expanded and she began performing at birthday parties, schools and became popular in ATL with her dad by her side as her manager. Out of all of the competitors, Jermaine Dupri believed Miss Mulatto was the strongest and was more prepared to be in the music industry. Miss Mulatto’s consistency, and professionalism made her stand out among the others. Mulatto has learned a lot from Jermaine, from his work ethic to his humility. But there are some words that particularly stuck with Miss Mulatto, Dupri often states, “No matter how big you feel like you are [or] you feel like you’ve made it already, you still have to work like you’re losing.” Miss Mulatto often takes this advice with her on her journey to making a name for herself not only in the “A” but internationally.

90’s Clash

Miss Mulatto is tuning her inner TLC in this unique getup. The patterns on the pants bring elements of hip-hop and high fashion. The pants are baggy but the mixture of the grey rectangles, white squares, suspenders and deep pockets creates a look of the 90’s. The orange crop top, black jacket, gold chain, black boots and bandanna are hip-hop influenced and represent Miss Mulatto. This ensemble gives her an edge and adds attitude while performing.

Sweet and Sassy

This outfit is a comfortable on-the-go look that is cute and fun. The black leather jacket says, “bad girl” while the two-bun hairstyle screams, “sweet.” Accessorized with pink lipstick and black circle shaped sunglasses Mulatto looks chic and unbothered. Her metallic sneakers complete this look and are perfect for a busy day or traveling to and from the airport.

Take it to the Streets

That denim looks great on Miss Mulatto, the thigh rips in jeans have made a comeback and will work for any color jean. Jean rips can be done in any shade and style of denim including light wash, or dark denim. The army- green crop top and Mulatto’s camouflaged patterned hoodie is a mixture of athletic wear and street wear. The crop top, being athletic and the hoodie signifying street wear. Mulatto shows off her Calvin Kleinunderwear, which looks strong. Usually males are known for allowing their underwear to show but in the years of 2015-16 there has significantly been a switch. Letting her pants sag and exposing the designer’s name of her underwear is bold but #bosslike. Her gold chain and shades add to this carefree boss mentality including her natural big curl. Miss Mulatto knows how to start the party, and when she walks in everyone will have to pay attention!

Look at my…Style

Dab! Miss Mulatto is never late with the biggest fashion trends as seen here. This jacket will be seen a lot this season and can be found in stores such as H&M. Her Bomber Jersey Jacket with pockets in a shade of pink is soft and makes her outfit. The simple white tee and white ripped skinny jeans is sharp, clean and pairs nicely with the bomber jersey jacket. Adidas Superstarsneakers will never go out of fashion and are the ultimate classic sneaker. The black stripes and black socks give a contrast to this light colored ensemble.

Color & Print on FLEEK

You can never go wrong with black and red, Miss Mulatto achieves this color combination with a cool animal print. The black crop top and black ripped skinny jeans sets the stage for this leopard print jacket! Whether you want to buy fur or faux fur you can rock this too! Mulatto’s sneaker game is strong as the red sneakers and red lipstick ties this ensemble together. Her makeup is simplistic consisting of; winged eyeliner and gold eyeliner. Miss Mulatto shows how a little can go a long way and it’s no such thing as too much color or animal print. Use both extremes to your advantage and you’re sure to be on fleek like Miss Mulatto!

The young rapper, Miss Mulatto is beyond her years of rapping experience and is eager to take her career to a level she’s never been before. Her journey on Lifetime’s The Rap Game has humbled her and she’s learned a lot from her mentor, Jermaine Dupri. Mulatto will be successful not only because she’s lyrical but also because she has a way to connect to young kids her age, and will get people older than her to listen to what she has to say. Mulatto has something that can’t be taught and naturally embodies that ATL swag that will surely be a hit for years to come. This prodigy child is a heavy hitter and can not be slowed down with JD (Jermaine Dupri) and her city behind her. Mulatto knows the fashion trends but creates her own rules. Brace yourself because Miss Mulatto is no force to reckon with. Watch out for her upcoming single “No More Talking” for her forthcoming EP and music video, “Broken Record Player” as she reflects on her story of how she came up on the winning side.
